"Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. "

We have always welcomed people who wish to give their "Time and Knowledge", and so we welcome all!!

Under the programme "Saathi" of FFC, the volunteers undertook visit to old age home on 19th July 2009.
Venue: Shantibhavan, Katol Road, Nagpur
FFC’S AIM IS TO EXTEND A HELPING HAND WITH FOOD, CLOTHING, AND EDUCATION AND OF COURSE LOTS OF LOVE, AFFECTION AND CARE TO THE UNDER-PRIVILEGED.
WITH A VIEW TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO THE DISCARDED AND DISCRIMINATED LIVES THAT BELONG TO ALMIGHTY, ON 19.7.2009, THE TEAM VISITED “SHANTI BHAVAN”, A HOME FOR HOMELESS, BETWEEN 3.30 P.M AND 5.30 P.M. THERE DWELLS AROUND 150 INMATES, OF THEM SIXTY ARE WOMEN. MOST OF THEM ARE EITHER MENTALLY CHALLENGED OR HANDICAPPED AGED BETWEEN 2O YRS TO 80 YRS. A YOUNG BOY OF AROUND 30 YRS WHO WAS WORKING IN AN MNC, MUMBAI HAS ALSO BEEN SHELTERED SINCE THERE IS NOBODY TO LOOK AFTER HIM AFTER HE MET AN ACCIDENT AND LOST HIS LIMBS….
THE TEAM MET THE MANAGEMENT OF THE HOME, AND EXPRESSED THE AIMS OF FFC. THE MANAGEMENT WAS VERY SUPPORTIVE AND CO-OPERATIVE AND KIND ENOUGH TO MEET THE INMATES.
ONE OF THE ELDERLY INMATES WELCOMED US ON BEHALF OF THE HOME AND INTRODUCED US WITH THE OTHER INMATES…
DURING OUR INTERACTION, WE LEARNT THAT ONCE THEY HAD THEIR OWN SWEET HOME FULL OF LIVELY ATMOSPHERE. BUT DUE TO SOME OF THE EMBARASSING SITUATION, THEY WERE ABANDONED / DISCARDED WHICH THE TEAM DID NOT LIKE TO PEEP INTO THEIR PAST………..
IT WAS ALSO LEARNT THAT THEY ARE SELF- SUFFICIENT, USED TO OBSERVE DISCIPLINE, ACTIVE AND SUPPORTIVE TO EACH OTHER. APART FROM THEIR DAILY ROUTINE WORK, THEY MAKE GREETING CARDS, OTHER HANDICRAFTS AND SELL THEM. WITH THOSE SMALL BUCKS EARNED, THEY CELEBRATE EACH OTHERS HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WITH GREAT ZEAL.
AT THE END, THE TEAM OFFERED EACH OF THE INMATES COLOURFUL BALLOONS, FLOWERS, SWEETS AND SNACKS WHICH THEY ACCEPTED WITH GREAT GESTURE AND AN INNOCENT SMILE. THE TEAM ASSURED THEM TO VISIT THE HOME AGAIN AND EXTEND ALL SORT OF HELPING HANDS……………….
THE TEAM WHILE THANKING TO THE MANAGEMENT, OF THE HOME TOOK LEAVE WHEN ALL THE INMATES EXPRESSED THEIR HEARTFUL GRATITUDE AND WAVE THEIR HANDS, SOME SAYING “MAY GOD HELP YOU!”
THE TEAM LEFT THE HOME WITH A HEAVY HEART BUT CAN WE EVER FORGET THEIR PRECIOUS SMILES WITH THOSE SPARKLING EYES WHICH HAD BEEN CAPTURED IN OUR HEART….?..? CERTAINLY NO……..
